Numara FootPrints
Customer Case Study

How can a department within a large organization streamline its global project management activities across multiple locations?

With more than 1000 employees working in 14 sites worldwide, Tality uses Numara™ FootPrints®‚ to manage its geographically dispersed design teams, providing a centralized system to exchange critical information and track project issues – at anytime, from anywhere.

Key Requirements

Tality Corporation, formerly the Electronic Design Services group of Cadence Design Systems, Inc., has more than 1000 engineers located in 14 design sites throughout the US, Europe and Asia. To help global users seamlessly collaborate on open projects, it was critical to consolidate information and communications into a single, systematic, cohesive infrastructure. Because some client specs included strict legal requirements, the group also needed centralized access control that could be regulated on a project-by-project basis. To further simplify project management, the right system would automatically assign tasks, track job times, and issue e-mail alerts with the latest status.

The Numara FootPrints Solution @ Tality

Tality installed Numara FootPrints in a week, and easily customized the solution to address specific needs using a variety of simple menus, web forms, and pull-down lists. Numara FootPrints was integrated onto Tality's high-banded UNIX web server. Within a month, the solution was rolled out to all servers, with users accessing the solution online via desktop PCs and UNIX workstations.

Using Numara FootPrints, Tality's project teams can easily review assignments, track issues, and communicate status using a simple interface, accessible from any standard web browser. To further simplify project management, Tality uses Numara FootPrints to automatically assign tasks, prioritize action items, and issue e-mail alerts when project status has changed. All activities are controlled by comprehensive security facilities to ensure multi-level, authorized access on a project-by-project basis.

Numara FootPrints also captures and stores a broad range of information, building a powerful knowledge base that can be accessed by Tality's project teams as well as clients to submit, track, and search for information and solutions – enabling fast, easy communication and collaboration.
